Notes & Combos
This deck was something I really find special mostly because it made me do something I could never do in months - actually make the climb to master for the first time. Don't get me wrong, it isn't that hard, just repetitive, and genuinely it was harder to get out of plat than it was to climb out of diamond but changing ratios of handtraps really helped.
As for ratios, I'm actually really happy with these, and if there's one thing that made my climb infinitely easier it was running 2 nib and 2 ghost ogre (only had 1 of each prior). D.D crow is a card I'm a lot happier to run vs cycle reader as it can hit a lot more decks than just bewd and fiendsmith, and you can banish your own crow to summon bystials in situations where you'd really like an extender after your lacrima was just impermed for the 5th game in a row (this happened very often). As for the ED I'm also very happy with the ratios I played, as 2 requiem and 2 sequence felt very necessary with Kash Unicorn and people playing bystials to counter fiendsmith. The second sequence came up a lot if people removed or impermed the sequence before it activated its effect and is great to punish those misplays if you have the extension to access it. Link spider is necessary to salvage normal monsters + an extender or a nib token + extender into SP pass which is sometimes enough with roar, handtraps etc. The most replaceable cards in this ED by far are both Apollousa and Lars. I had Apo since plat 4 and never used it once, as plays to set it up are finnicky and lose to graveyard removal. Running a second desirae instead of Apo is very advisable in my opinion. Lars never came up for me but that's because I crafted it when i got to Diamond 1 so I didn't encounter the niche situations where I missed it. But it seems like it'd be very useful in situations where you open lordly lode and a bystial and can't go fiendsmith combo due to removal etc and can overlay skull + a bystial (caesar needs 2 fiends so having a generic really helps). I don't feel like I miss M6 much but I've never played with it yet, consider playing pure bystial fiendsmith control with no primite and replace link spider with M6.
If you want to play this deck below diamond, do beware as the deck is lower to the ground and the handtraps you have are less likely to be able to hit the random ahh piles you may come across, I genuinely had a 40% winrate or something in plat because of bricking, improper ratios, and bad matchups as just mentioned.
