Notes & Combos
For most of Master 1 in Season 26 and Season 27, I experimented with a less Synchro-based build that ended on Heatsoul much more often as an endboard while also making space for Link utility monsters or I:P targets.
After tinkering with the Extra Deck + Main Deck for both seasons, I personally believe this is better than the old build I was running with Elf and something I'll continue to tinker and improve as the season continues.
No CBTG? No Crossout?
Yes, there's no CBTG or Crossout Designator in the list. Why?
Turns out the deck has so much follow-up and plays on the opp's turn through Divine Temple of the Snake Eye, you could either go for an I:P play or just pass with multiple handtraps if you get Maxx C'd.
While it is significantly more painful going second with less protection from Maxx C, the increased amount of handtraps (up to 20 with the Bystials) have been more useful overall than CBTG / Crossout.
Of course, I could always decrease my handtrap count (down to 15-18) in favor of adding back CBTG + Crossout or other consistency options but maybe I'll do it if I get Maxx C'd twice in multiple games.
Are the Bystials good in the fire-infested Snake-Eyes Meta?
I believe so, for the 19th/20th handtrap they've overperformed compared to something like Belle.
Being able to banish a Linkuriboh, I:P, or even the ancillary handtrap like a Veiler in the GY for more card advantage or disruption has been quite useful, especially when paired with Diabellstar or the Charmers.
The only matchup where the Bystials perform poorly in is against Superheavy Samurai but I should have multiple handtraps to weaken their board anyways.
