Notes & Combos

D5 -> D4 -> D5 -> D4 -> D5 -> M5

Primarily only played ranked on stream on the 6th and 20th, so there's a decent gap in player quality. Even so, I wasn't seeing Maliss really much at all on the 6th. Only near the end of the stream when it was primarily Maliss (still in D5/D4).

I wouldn't say that Maliss really contributed more to my deranks. It was basic Traptrix/going second issues while still pretty early season.

As for the deck, I'm not sold on Nib. It helped me win some games and in other games, it's just there. Granted, that could be the same as any other card while going second. I thought about taking it out, but I do like having at least a real card to potentially draw while my opponent is under Maxx C.

Belle is alright. I swapped Droll out for it (thanks to Fear mentioning it at some point in the Discord) I haven't seen her enough though, but stopping Engraver for a turn can be pretty useful.

After today, I think my biggest pain point was seeing Crossout. I saw it a handful of times in back to back (almost) games to keep me out of things.

Still not feeling confident about my handtrap selection nor how things go, but I don't think I ever will with the power creep. If your opponent takes 1 step, they can do soo much compared to basically any card in my deck.

I'd maybe throw in some direct Maliss hate if I saw them often enough. Maybe it'll change in Master.

Zero did mention how they were on Strike instead of Iron Thunder. Maybe that's something I can change up as well just to negate summons, as opposed to have to hit an effect. I think having Strike instead of Iron Thunder in one game would have really helped since after Fiendsmithing, my opponent dropped Snake-Eye Ash in a column where I had a monster that I wanted to keep, so I let it go through.

  1. Going first against Crystron [3 Holeutea - Sun_sleep] Not sure how well either of us played. I just know that it's a pain dealing with everything floating.
