Notes & Combos

I combined two of my favourite things, Tearlaments and Fallen Angels, as well as two of the best designed and most attractive monsters in the game, with Kitkallos/Rulkallos and the Darklord Fusions.

It makes for a more gambly version of Tear, since you don't want to mill too much but also not too little and a less consistent Darklord deck, which trades an abundance of non-engine in for more firepower and additional ways to access their combo.

First off, the list isn't optimised at all. I found it funny that most cards are played at 2, so I cut down the ones at 3 as well, like Banishment, Djehuty and Ash. Contact is actually good and you don't want to mill your only copy before Eveningstar hits the board, so you play 2. Same goes for Nepyrim and it is also the reason I run all 3 traps, since you need one in deck for Eveningstar to activate.

The best card is definitely Brilliant Fusion. Ixchel being an Ash Magnet is a blessing in disguise for this build. In the same way Scheiren can bait it for Ixchel, she can prevent your Brilliant Fusion being negated. And when it resolves, you get full Tear and Darklord combo.

Sadly, this isn't primarily a Tearlaments deck and you rather use it as an engine here to both bait out the handtraps that Darklord is susceptible to as well as mill cards.

Said Tear mills can hit Gulgolet, a Banishment so that Eveningstar and Ixchel can search two cards during the first turn, Ixchel so that Eveningstar revives her and you have both, a trap that Djehuty can retrieve and so on. The main gambling aspect is that you do not want to mill Dance, which makes it more exciting since lines get complicated if you do.

Be sure to make your Tear plays first, since Djehuty locks you into Dark Fairies. Tear doesn't need their normal too often and you want to reserve it for the Djehuty if you can.

A problem you might run into is that you have too little space on your board. Djehuty into Gulgolet requires 4 empty spaces to resolve fully, so I run Spright Elf to link Reino and Condemned at the end of the standard Brilliant Line. Elf can be replaced, it is a remnant from when I tried Diviner out.

For the changes, you can still run Diviner, it just adds another 2 normal summons to the deck, but increases the ceiling further with Synchro plays. Play 2 Eveningstar if you have them. Dragostapelia can mix one back in a grindy game, but it is cluncky. Obviously 3 Banishment and co if you want to optimise and don't care about the 2 gimmick.

Replays

I have a couple of replays, showing how the deck plays into specifically Branded, handtraps, specifically Fuwalos (both all in and reserved) and against a better Darklord build.

The second duel showcases the 1-card Brilliant Fusion combo possible with his deck.
