Notes & Combos
After a lot of testing, this is the version I’ve settled on.
I followed Mila and Kap advice on hand traps there just aren’t enough strong ones to justify going all the way to 60. That said, I really don’t like playing close to 40 either because of how often you end up drawing Exodia bricks.
So I landed on 50 cards as the middle ground.
Deck breakdown:
25 starters (7 Fiendsmith / 4 Odion / 14 Millennium)
15 hand traps
10 bricks (5 Exodia pieces + 2 Exodia traps + 3 Apophis traps)
The idea is simple:
Reduce the chances of opening multiple bricks Keep strong interaction going second Still maintain very high starter consistency
From testing (and the math behind it), this version reduces the chances of multi-brick Exodia parts compared to builds closer to 40, while still keeping a solid chance of seeing interaction. Overall, the average hand quality feels consistent, although I’d still recommend trying Mila or Kap approach closer to 40 to see what fits your playstyle best.
The deck still has its weaknesses into top meta, but this version feels the most stable so far and actually gives you a chance to compete.
I honestly think this is the strongest version of Exodia right now before Heart of Gaia, and I’m really curious to see how much that card will impact the deck moving forward.
I’m still refining ratios, but this is probably the closest I’ve felt to a “complete” version of Exodia.
Would love to hear thoughts, suggestions, or if anyone else is trying a similar approach 👀
