Notes & Combos

Haven't really felt super into playing this season, hence the slow climb to Master 5.

While in Diamond:

  • I've seen an increasing amount of Red Reboot (a handful of games hit me with it, so no clue if more people are playing it or I just got unlucky)
  • Even with Unicorn at 2, I don't see a difference in people opening it nor playing the small Kash package.
  • Super Poly seems to be being played more than prior.

Honestly, not sure how to deal with any of the above (other than shotgunning Maxx C [which I never do unless if I went first or opened multiple]) or just always ending on Sera + Redoer or Sera + Sera to play around the potential Super Poly (not that I always go into Raff, but I have been doing it more so given how my hands have been).

Regarding decks in the format:

  • Snake-Eye: Can definitely be a pain if you don't open handtraps/go second, however, not the worst going first always.
  • Lab: Still a pain. If you don't open Ash, it seems to me that it's always a gamble whether or not I'll be able to pull out the win. Even with Ash though.. it's not always guaranteed.
  • Tear: Same as normal. They pop off, you lose. They don't mill the nuts, you have a decent chance.
  • Rescue-ACE: This match-up seems horrid. I thought they were a pain before the support since both CONTAIN! and EXTINGUISH! smacks normal summon reliant decks around. However, with the new support... They should be ok going first against though.. however, they can definitely have a ton of gas depending and easily dodge things if they have EMERGENCY!
  • Unchained: I haven't faced pure Unchained yet, so I'm not fully certain, however, it seems like a horrible match-up. It certainly felt that way pre-Traptrix support at the very least.
  • Branded/Purrely/VS: Same old song and story. Feels like you have to get lucky to usually pull out the wins or have a chance.
  • Chimera: I have no clue. I haven't seen the deck nor really read their cards. Being a fusion deck though with some cheese, they'll probably be a pain, even with only 1 Branded Fusion.

As for my own cards:

  • Bagooska: I don't look forward to S:P releasing given how often my opponents let me get a rank 4 out and I'm able to climb back thanks to Bagooska stall with Sera bulding resources.
  • Exciton: Still really nice when needed.
  • Aussa: Still really nice.
