Notes & Combos
This decklist is kinda spicy, because we have a new tech.
I decided to experiment with Seventh tachyon. You could add in Seventh ascension as well but you would have to take out additional non-engine and from play testing i felt like 3 tachyons was enough. Tachyon adds a lot of consistency to the deck as it allows you to search ulkanix, who is your best starter. The downsides are that you aren't able to link summon, which considering all the handtraps like maxx c, fuwa etc you most often wouldn't be doing anyways. The goal is to end on 2 lvl 8s or a way to put them on the field and if you have kirin or sky burn in hand this will turn into 3-4 in engine disruptions. which backed up by handtraps is usually enough to stop most decks from playing, and especially from OTK-ing you and force a grind game, which you will most likely win.
Another downside of Seventh tachyon is that you have to return a card back to the top of the deck which in fire king isn't that big of a deal as you are already running a lot of cards you don't wanna see in your hand, such as OG garunix, fire king island, multiple copies of sanctuary, other copies of seventh tachyon etc.
Seventh tachyon can also bait out an ash because people will think you're playing ryzeal, and if they don't pay attenion that you've revealed cestus they might think you're trying to add ext ryzeal :D
If you already did your combo without tachyon or your combo got stopped you can also seach lancea with tachyon to hopefully turn skip maliss.
The other thing i added this month is 2 chaos hunters, because out matchup vs maliss is much worse than our matchup against ryzeal, especially if they go 1st, so i wanted to have more handtraps which could potentially stop maliss from playing.
I took out extravagance, cause i don't wanna banish my tachyon targets and tachyon basically serves the same purpose of improving consistency.
I also took out 3 veilers and 2 nibs as those cards felt awkward to play together with Dominus impulse, and honestly in most games where i managed to resolve nibiru i still lost anyway.
I'm running impulse at 3 now, with the veiler and nibs gone. It's amazing vs maliss, and ok vs ryzeal.
The general idea of building and adapting the deck for this season was that i faced much more maliss on the ladder than ryzeal, and our matchup vs ryzeal is already good enough to a point where i don't need to tech against them specifically so i put in as much maliss hate in my deck as i could fit.
