Notes & Combos
I played Furniture Lab for Season 21 - a version of it that's a bit heavier on interaction and more flexible in its lineup than typical lists. I thought a grindy, versatile build would pay off coming into this season's meta as I anticipated a good share of the climb would be midrange decks (primarily taking advantage of Kash's engine) and it pretty much was. This deck played very well into that, emphasizing efficient answers and solid ways to snowball value practically off every trade. Ultimately, I had a fairly smooth ride piloting it to M1.
FAQ
Where are the Bystials, where are the Shufflers?
A lot of Furniture Lab players are currently playing one or the other - some are even still playing both. I chose not to play either for this meta as they're both middling into Kash and its variants in addition to being too rigid in application to handle a ladder that's still working with a relatively undefined meta. Lastly, I thought there were more valuable non-engine choices to be slotted in, especially as far as HTs are concerned.
Isn't 42 cards too much, why not 40?
I go for over 40 when the value of not having to compromise on engine and defensive options notably supersedes the value of seeing "X" given card(s) of interest more regularly (where "X" can be up to a playset") all in relation to the current meta. In this case, bringing on a couple of more utility choices to be available on ladder to improve flexibility for matchups was much more worthwhile than the negligible, rough 1% loss in consistency.

I played Moonlit over a third Veiler as it plays through Shifter and Shifter-like effects, doesn't make Bystials immediately live, and gives me a little more agility in my negates since I can use it on my turn as well. It also opened up a good amount of quick kills since it's easy for Lab to remove the monster afterward, burn, and push for damage.

While a lot of Furniture Labs are just on the single copy - if any at all - I double downed on Punishment and it worked out really well. Seeing Punishment more often instead of having to rely on your Lady search to go get it was nice, and having the second copy so Lovely isn't forced to recycle it when you wanted it was also good. Two came up a bunch through the climb and it was very elastic in the way it let me problem-solve game states, which was perfect for the current environment.
