Notes & Combos

Had a smooth run with this list and it performed better than my usual boardbreaker lists.

Sooo this meta you really wanna just play Handtraps and not board breakers because beating Elfnote going second is almost impossible because if you don't OTK, 1 liger ain't gonna save you. Also a lot of the Medius decks put up boards filled with negates that makes it really hard to win going second with boardbreakers. Also surprisingly, the power patron FTK is REALLY popular in my climb so yeah.

For the handtraps: Maxx C, Ash and Fuwa are like the most common always. I run 3 Ogre because this meta it's REALLY strong into Elfnote with interacting with their continuous spell or trap. Also against Branded it is neat to pop Albaz or the Ecclesia synchro monster.

Impulse is also amazing as it's almost useable against most decks but only really good in combination with other handtraps.

Belle and Mourner are kinda flexible but Mourner was really good and I would recommend this meta more than Veiler and Imperm, Why you might ask? because they are better in turn 1 against Regina turn 0 play, which can really mess you up with the handrip, the bounce and even the Fortuna effect can be a disruption if you Tenki or Masquerade. Mourner stops it and also in general more flexible when playing into a board when you top deck it against decks with layered disruptions.

In general, you can always just play the handtraps that YOU prefer but for me, those worked well enough. But I REALLY REALLY recommend playing handtraps over boardbreakers this meta.

Also it has been a while since I started to play 1 Hound only, I hate drawing the card so much which also means I play 1 Fraktall, I still keep drawing it but I honestly just prefered cutting the Hound and playing an extra handtrap instead. I really do not think it is bad to play 1, you just need to keep it in mind during your follow up turns etc.

And of course because there is a lot of Ogres this meta, Masquerade sucks but I just want the consistency especially that we only have 1 Foolish Burial Goods which makes playing Serenade Dance worse.

For the ED: I play Tiger alongside Broadbull just in the case I had to Impulse turn 1 or when I go second, I did Impulse during my turn to stop the June Pride turn 0 plays so having Tiger King helps in that situation but really I rarely went into it, so you can play Nyarla instead. I:P is also not needed.

I have some cool replays, go check them!
