Notes & Combos

New deck dropped this season! This is Roogy pure, and I love how "slippery" it is. It feels like certain board breakers just don't work, and like my previous picks, it has decent (still somewhat slippery) pivots when hit by something like the C.

It's a step up in difficulty from my previous lists though.... There are so many places to misplay and throw a completely winnable game. For the same reason you really can't afford to be tilted by bad luck as making the right choices matters so much.

This is a pretty standard pure list, save for a few things:

• You can probably tell I ran out of ideas for my extra... just go wild. The extra in pure is so loose, you could even duplicate some of your more used extra picks and then play 1x Extrav in the main.
• Impulse is the big reason you play pure (or Orcust). Though it doesn't floodgate out Maliss or Orucst like Lancea would, it still affects them, while having better coverage.
• I honestly don't know why my finishing list has cut Fuwa and subbed in Imperm. It probably has something to do with Fuwa not resolving / the ability of the decks to self Droll, being dead because my board has a normal summon stuck on it, or resolving only for me to get OTK'd in a few draws that didn't help.
• Magatama and Wousu were both clutch. The former is great for popping Babel or Cross, and the latter isn't just a Kaiju -- it also can un-brick certain hands.
• I cut Night Sword for less bricking. You can still get to rank 4's by spending your Prayers and searching another copy of it (it's a bit weaker to Nib because you use all 3 of your ritual revives, but because of the searched 2nd Prayers, you're not completely helpless if they do have it).
• Speaking of rank 4's... you often plus off of Nibbing yourself after exhausting the other on board interactions, so going for Granite on the first turn is much more impactful than it looks.
• 3x Aramasa 1x Lamia is probably better than 2x of each, but I'm saving my dust.

Overall, I had a strangely large amount of fun this format, but I'm not entirely sure why, because the handtrap minigame is still really bad (it's just Droll now instead of Lancea). Good luck to anyone attempting to climb with this and feel free to swap out the ratios depending on your tastes -- mine fluctuated frequently too.
