Shoutout to lifepointtaker! At their direction, I cut Defenser & Guardian for 1 Achichi, 2 Pikari, 1 A.I. Land. Here's their decklist for inspiration.

You have to play Dark Infant, so I cut Desaveurm. I think with Conflict in main, I was comfortable not ending on Desavewurm in GY. Usually Allied Code + Heatsoul + Transcode colink w/Superfactorial & Conflict set are enough. If you get interacted with, setting either Conflict or Superfactorial should also be enough since they are on less cards.
Going forward, I agree with playing these cards over Defenser + Guardian. Here's a short list of benefits:
- Achichi & Pikari are starters that force out Ash/Veiler/Imperm the same as Defenser. But the threat of Infant into A.I. Land lets you weave in multiple drawn copies of this engine.
- Pikari add A.I. Meet You is very good redundancy. Often times people will interact with Infant and you threaten Backup
- Linguriboh then make Infant later in the turn rotates Linguriboh back in by tributing Infant. This can come up when the opponent pops Linguriboh to preserve their trap.
- A.I. Land bricks like Guardian but the ability to summon from hand without requiring a monster on field means the opponent cannot just rely on popping your Link 1s. It can replace itself when popped, blanking removal when the opponent does not want to give you the luxury of freeing your normal.
I believe this package still has its weakness into Droll but you can probably play Terahertz with Packbit + Desavewurm for the most efficent Droll half-board. It's the most egregious while starting Pikari, but Pikari is safer into everything else.
Matchup Breakdown in Total (174 Duels; 77 Heads, 97 Tails)
Due to Tenpai/Striker/Mikanko influence: 78 Going 1st, 96 Going 2nd
- 30 Kewl Tune (17.2%, W/R = 50%)
- 25 Elfnote (14.4%, W/R = 72%)
- 13 Striker (7.5%, W/R = 76%)
- 13 Vanquish Soul (7.5%, W/R = 61%)
- 10 Orcust (5.7%, W/R = 40%)
Honorable Mentions: 8 Hecahands, 7 Odion, 6 Dracotail & Kashtira
The meta is more diverse than last month's Kewl Tune Fiesta. Elfnote was popular but the most surprising part was my winrate. It felt like you need handtraps vs this deck and the half boards like Baronne handrip / bounce pass are manageable.
