Notes & Combos

Went from M5 -> M4 -> M3 (lost 3 games right away) -> M4 -> M3 -> M2 -> M1 this season.

The first time while being in M4, I was getting nowhere. I kept winning a few games, then losing a few constantly. I had 44 games in M4 before going to M3, just to derank back to M4. While in the M4 rut, I did take out the Veilers and added in Shifter as a stronger option. I also took out a Holeutea for Brigandine (to work better with Shifter and it's just good anyways), added in Belle, and added in a small Zoo package in the ED.

The Zoo package was to give me a way to clear Horus boards. With King's Sarc up.. you can't Exciton them, you can't attack with an XYZ since King's Sarc just sends your card to the gy, and if you dare to pop King's Sarc, they just go plus for days. I definitely was seeing a ton of Horus in just about everything as well. Plus, a 4 mat ZEUS is good.

While talking about my woes of ranked in the Discord, fear did bring up their list and about how they found Belle nice (they brought up the Zoo cards as well), so I added her to see how things would go. She never really came up though (saw her only a handful of times), although, she was able to stop Birth from bringing back Fenrir in my rank-up game to M1 and I can see how she'd be great if you hit Flamberge/Splash Mage/etc. She's also another good card against Lab.. which usually goes off on me each game.

I wouldn't mind removing Bottomless Trap Hole for another card, but I haven't figured out for what. It's still a generially decent hole, but something like another Nightmare might be better. (it's just nice to have extra utility)

Match-ups are the same as before.

• Rescue-ACE is **** if they go first since with Turbulence alone, you'll have issues playing through both of their traps to set a board up. Even if you open Shifter/Maxx C, they can also just use a single EMERGENCY! to get out Turbulence to set 4 and pass..
• Snake-Eye is still the same.
• Lab still sucks since they always seem to have turn 0 plays against me and I rarely draw Ash against them right away
• Runick still sucks. I hate that I'm seeing it on ladder again.
• Naturia is basically always some sort of stun deck. They either want to Calamity lock you or they pair up with Runick, so always a fun time.

To note, in my last 30 games, I did go from M4 -> M1; however, I did see Shifter/Maxx C in a fair chunk of my opening hands, so those helped a ton.
