You already know...this meta is insanity.

There is a very simple approach when dealing with a GY abusing deck like snake eyes. You can use floodgates. Many decks similar to trix are running macro, dimensional fissure, etc. I tried macro. I didn't like it at all. I even tried retaliating C. It's good against snake eyes and branded, but almost nothing else. So, I had to drop it. In the end, good ol' shifter saved the day. That being said, I didn't see him as often as I wanted. And, to be honest, I think shifter is holding traptrix back from reaching its true potential.

Anyway, for this season I started with zoodiac barrage to give me an extra body in case my trix line got disrupted. My fellow helper, Fear, has had incredible success with it. But, I found that it wasn't really helping me go first, and it wasn't strong enough to beat snake eyes going second.

So, I opted for shade as an extender to push through some interrupts, called by to remove...everything, and 14 handtraps. This is probably the highest I can go before making the deck too bricky.

Mourner was okay. She won me a game or two. Of course maxx c and imperm are incredible. Nib was iffy, but it won me a game or two. Ash is a necessary evil, but there were times versus snake eyes where I just held ash because I didn't want to turn on their hiita.

MVP of the list was overroot. That card was nasty every time I saw it. And traptrix trap hole nightmare is the go-to vs snake eyes. It hits everything in their deck.

All that being said, the reality of the situation is snake eyes is ridiculous. If you cannot stop them from getting started, there is almost zero chance of breaking their board. Prevention is key. I've seen some traptrix lists on veiler. I don't hate it at all.
