Notes & Combos
Dim fissure and shifter are mostly to stop droll. Of course it hinders other decks a lot but you dont have to play it. Optional cards if you dont want to play floodgates can be more engine, more desires, sol and luna.
I didn't play maxxDD but feel free to. If you need to cut an engine card from this list, you can reduce spider (atilSPIA) and/or scorpion (archaTAIL) to one. Fox (astaPIXEA), Whale (atoriMAR) and Lion (aizaLEON) are way too good and I wouldn't cut down to less than two each, Whale is so strong that you definitely want to play three.
The Extra deck doesnt matter, I didnt go into it once from d5 to m1. It is like this cause I was playing F&V at some point, but you dont have to craft all those URs. The deck is strong enough as is without it. F&V is probably the best if you dont want to play dim fis.
There isn't a combo in this deck per say, you want to add the small guys (the level ones) to add more guys (droll kills this deck so hard I decided to play dim fis). Setting the small guys face down is also good, not only they provide follow up but also their interruptions, as though not as strong as the big guys, are definitely significant. Trying to go through all of them and all of your spells turn one is ideal. If you dont have dim fis up, consider adding a strong big buy like Whale or Fox to play around droll.
Your turn one plays are very hand dependant, the "flow" of the deck turn one is activate one small guy scale, add a second name, then use field spell to bounce both, activate a third name, search for a fourth name, search for reverth and shuffle back the scales and whatever you want from your hand. It takes some games to get used to it!
Try not getting to trigger-happy! Think before clicling glowing button!
You can defitely win going second! Play smart and use mind games as much as possible. Tips for going second:
- you can set the level one guys immediately to set up disruption
- consider activating field spell first then using Reset as a negate; it has a setup but it has won me games, especially if they play greedy and not activate anything
- you can try to bait distuption by activating a strong guy in hand, but setting a small guy that imediately triggers if opponent tries to do something
- the big guys have a strong scale effect! they also stack, so you can scale two big guys, go battle, end of battle pop two opponent monsters that are smaller than 3k, then bounce them with the field spell and still have them face down!
