Notes & Combos
Wake up, it's Branded season again !
I wanted to go to M1 with with Despia, but maaan, Enneacraft and Dracotail wouldn't let me. It's pretty hard to win with Despia versus those two decks if you didn't go full combo turn 1. Turn 2 was even more miserable. Ennea setting up difi and Dracotail with traps in addition W.albaz disruption was too much. And for some reason I always draw 1 handtrap or breaker going second, and going first I draw almost all of them. The KT matchup with despia has been great and enjoyable though and It has it deals better with evenly matched, so there's that. When I reach M3 all KT disappeared I kept losing to those two previous deck. I was getting tired of bouncing between M5 and M3, so I went to Dracotail.
Dracotail did pretty good against Ennea. Of course, you still lose if they Difi, but it's waaaay easier to deal with their board between non-target pop, chainblock, and multiple fusion that set your traps and F$V for next turn. The droplet is even better if you draw it. If you go first, you win. Against Despia going first, you win if you didn't brick and end on only traps + gulamel + faimena. Going second your best bet is to disrupt them enough that they don't end up on mirrorjade and have as little searches on turn 3 as possible. In a sense, you have to pull them into a 'grind' game. That grind game should not last long though, otherwise they will outgrind you. That's why I play 2 Nib. If they don't have cartesia, albaz, and Queem on field and have to do the gymnastic with F$V and Black Dragon turn 2, you can OTK most of time or at least set up enough disruptions to have an advantageous a turn 4.
The droll was nice against Ennea, Radiant Typhoon, and Sky Strikers. RT and SS are probably the worst matchup. It's still manageable though. I lost to a number of RT, because I can't set anything against them, not to mention how they draw fuwa everytime I go first. I play Lubellion to have easier access to Mirrojade or Khaos through Albaz/Cartesia fusion. It came up a few times against KT and spell/traps decks.
The mirror match is just a contest of skill. The one who draw better and is able to recycle long enough usually win.
Honestly the hardest part about the deck is learning what to combo into turn 1 and how to use your disruption. There's also some skill involved in how to bait your opponent turn two, and make sure you don't lock yourself out your own plays. I have 7 tabs open for that. Still You Gotta Lock In To Win!
