Notes & Combos

Went 26-4 from somewhere in Diamond 1 to Master 1 after switching to this deck from initially playing Tear ([proof](invalid url including starting off with a 17 game win streak, while going 1st only 10 out of those 30 games. However, this season actually felt like one of my longest grinds because I really struggled to climb with Tear. Until I stopped tracking, I was at 29-31 in my first 60 games with Tear.

Having never played Branded at all in the past, my initial reason for switching to this deck was that I felt like it had an inherent advantage over Tear. Even though I had reached Master 1 with Tear last season, this was always the matchup that gave me the most trouble, and I'm not sure if I even won over 50% of those games. As I wrote in my decklist from last season, I felt that there was parity at the top between Tear, Spright, and Branded, and having finally played the deck, I now feel that this is the best deck because you can tech it out in a way that gives you an edge across all matchups. This deck is essentially a "good stuff" deck because it plays two of the best engines in the game while also leaving plenty of room for non-engine. The Bystial engine is absolutely broken because it generates advantages easily, has synergy with your fusion engine, and can win games on its own when your fusion engine is stopped. There were plenty of games that I've won where I never fusion summoned. In terms of non-engine, Super Poly and Evenly are simply two of the best cards right now. They're good against every single one of the top 4 (3 that I previously mentioned + Labrynth) and this is probably the only deck that has the space to fit all six copies.

Also want to add that another big strength of this deck is its lack of weaknesses. Maxx C against this deck is just a draw 1, Ash isn't a death sentence because your Bystial & non-engine are so strong. Evenly is actually great against this deck because the only thing that this deck "overcommits" to is the board, but its not as popular as it should be at the moment.

ED considerations: Mudragon, lv 9 Predaplant, Masquerade Never summoned: Mysterion, Proskenion
