Prerequisites

  • A registered Konami ID linked to your master duel game
  • Must login to Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards DB using the same Konami ID
  • If the Yu-Gi-Oh! DB website asks to login with Game Card ID just click "I don't have a game card ID" and fill some basic information to proceed

Export Guide

- Via the MDM extension (Recommended): Download on Firefox, or Chromium Browsers
For Chromium browsers (Chrome/Edge/Opera/Brave...etc) just click "Add to chrome" on the store page and it'll work on most if not all chromium browsers.
After using the extension, go to the Master Duel game => Main menu => Deck option => The Card database option at the top right corner => locate the deck you exported and copy it

  1. Click here to copy the export code
    2.
  2. Go to Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards DB and click My Deck => Add a Deck
  3. Once the deck page loads click Edit then do one of the following based on the platform your device is running:
    • (PC Only): Press F12 to open the browser console => Paste the export code there => Hit Enter
    • OR (Other platforms/PC): In the address bar of the current tab remove the URL and type "javascript:" without the quotations then paste the export code and hit Enter
  4. Save the deck
  5. Go to the Master Duel game => Main menu => Deck option => The Card database option at the top right corner => locate the deck you exported and copy it

Notes & Combos

This climb was an experience...

I tried with trap heavy, but I was running into problems where I was auto losing against these massive combo decks going second. So, I experimented with a bunch of handtraps: ash, maxx c, droll, mourner, belle, imperm, and crow.

But by the end of the climb, I started to have a problem with handtrap heavy. This is a 2-card combo deck. Even if I can stop the opp with mourner, if I can't combo on my turn, then I just delayed the ineveitable. So, a mix of handtraps and powerful traps like torrential and IDP is what I settled on.

General matchup notes:

SHS wasn't that bad going fiirst. It's almost impossible going first without shifter, droll, maxx c. But they were able to make bagooska fairly consistently under shifter and droll. So, I experimented with donner to out it. Codebreaker and Cerberus are other options.

Mannedium and Tear were pretty common during my climb. IDP, shifter, and crow worked well here. Also, gravedigger. Be careful about super poly...

Branded is a nightmare. That deck is seriously the strongest deck on the ladder. IDP might work but it might not. Deck is nasty.

Mathmech is rough. If you don't overwhelm them quickly they will OTK you. And Sera is too small to tank Terahertz to the face.

Vs is impossible. I'm still looking for a way to beat them. I only won once though and they had ended on Ceasar pass (a bricked hand).

Lab is pretty reasonable. It also helps that many decks are teching against SHS. Droll, for example, does not hurt us at all.

I think there's an argument for running more extenders like shade or parallel, but again that's a 2-card combo. And it's miserable into maxx c. When these decks all have 1-card starters, I felt that relying on 2 cards was a frustrating experience.

Handtraps:

Sadly, Maxx C was amazing at stopping these combo decks.

My droll never worked to stop these decks. But droll against me helped me win a few matches.

Mourner is cool and works under shifter. Belle is nice against lab and theoretically branded, but branded can chain block it.

  1. Going first. Rank up match vs SHS. You can see them make bagooska under shifter. (They beat me a few times like this, so I had to tech for it)
  2. Going first against branded that opened absolutely everything!
  3. Going first against branded when I bricked but had maxx

Sadly, I don't have good going second replays. The fact of the matter is I won many of those games with maxx c or shifter. They aren't really a good demonstration of what the deck can do. But that's handtrap meta.
