Notes & Combos

With the release of Intact, Dinomorphia is now looking pretty strong. Summoning Rexterm is a win condition against most decks, so having access to a searchable way to deal with Ash Blossom (which is one of the deck's biggest weaknesses) ensures that it can happen a lot more consistently. Going 2nd, this deck still has a chance even when opening 0 handtraps, as Solemn Strike and Intact are pretty much unrespondable.

On top of that, with the entering of Superheavy Samurai into the meta, a lot less people are playing blowout cards like Lightning Storm, Harpie's Feather Duster or Evenly Matched in favor of handtraps like Droll or Ghost Ogre, which don't really do much against Dinomorphia.

The decklist is pretty standard but it also feels very tight. I'm maxing out on consistency to ensure seeing Frenzy or Domain as frequently as possible. Here is my reasoning behind some of the choices:

  • since I'm playing 3 copies of Fossil Dig, Miscellaneosaurus feels almost mandatory so that opening multiples isn't as bad;
  • Trap Trick over Trap Tracks because having a monster on the field isn't always guaranteed, I could play a 3rd copy but I don't know what to take out;
  • 2 copies of Alert for Trap Trick and also for the grind game, as Dinomorphia runs out of fusion materials pretty quickly. Would play a 2nd Brute as well, but again, I feel like I have no space for it;
  • Codebreaker and Azalea are outs for Bagooska.

Cards I'm not playing:

  • Solemn Judgement: I tried it, but I don't think it's that needed anymore, also there's nothing I would take out the deck for it.
  • Soul of the Supreme King: doesn't really do enough to justify a place in the list.
  • Droll: not needed, I never lost to Superheavy Samurai or Mannadium a single time thanks to Frenzy + Strike/Impact dealing with full negate boards pretty easily.

Pretty fun deck, probably not as fun to play against tho :)
