Notes & Combos

Why play Runick Snake-Eye instead of Pure?
- Plays better through hand traps. They are forced to choose between stopping your Runick or Snake-Eye engines
- Snake-Eye Ash/Oak second effect can free up your EMZ in order to make multiple runick summons in your 1st turn. This guarantees you fountain draws if you have 2 runicks in hand
- If Ash gets ashed, you can use its second effect by sending Hugin to the GY to keep comboing
- Huge card advantage from Fountain + Wanted + Heatsoul. This can give you several runick interruptions during your opponent's turn on top of the full snake-eye board
- Stronger grind game over multiple turns than other Snake-Eye decks thanks to the Runick Engine
- Consistent deck-out win condition that other Snake-Eyes decks do not have
- Better board when Maxx C'd by passing on Fountain + quick play Runicks
Weaknesses of this deck:
- Plays very few hand traps so you can't interrupt your opponent on turn 1, only Ash and Maxx C
- Runick engine has several limits in MD vs TCG/OCG, so you will see your stronger Runick spells less often
- No Baron/Savage omni-negates, but the utility of the runick spells makes up for this
- No battle phase or Zeus = harder to break boards
How to combo with this deck:
- Use Runick/Wanted spells in draw phase
- Activate Fountain & Summon Ash/Diabellstar to start combo
- Add Poplar with Ash eff and summon
- Send Hugin with Ash eff to summon Oak
- Linkuriboh Poplar and put in S/T zone
- Send Poplar for Oak effect & summon Flamberge
- Make I:P and trigger Flamberge
- Make Promethean with your I:P + Linkuriboh and resummon Flamberge
- Make Sunlight Wolf and resummon Linkuriboh from GY
- Make Heatsoul pointing to Flamberge and pass
What can be changed in this deck:
- Remove 1 diabellstar if you want 40 cards
- Add or remove Runick spells if you want to see them more or less (15 quick-plays minimum)
- Accesscode instead of Zealantis or 2nd Geri
- Swap second Geri for Munin if you want a way to protect Fountain from non-destruction target removal
- If you want more hand traps I recommend Nib, it is the hand trap with the highest impact
- Keep the Trap, it is your best play vs Maxx C (Trades 1 draw for a 2.5k body, permanent card negate, & set Wanted for turn 3)
- You don't need Snake-Eye Field Spell or other Snake-Eye spells at all, but you're welcome to try them.
