Notes & Combos

If you want more detail regarding how Labrynth plays in general, I'd recommend reading the guide Paul and I wrote which is pinned in #labrynth in the Master Duel Meta Discord. You can also ask helpers like me for help there.

I wanted to incorporate the new Diabellstar package to spice things up as I just wanted to try something new as the past seasons have shown. This season's climb wasn't as smooth as using my usual list, in part due to getting used to the package and me playing games on autopilot, but I still climbed up there decently fast.

The Diabellstar engine is a simple 1c combo that needs something to send to GY in order to get a Normal Trap that basically functions as an omni-negate. Starting from Wanted allows you to get this as well as a draw next turn to recoup your losses. This is partly why we're drawing Nadir, as the extra cards Nadir gives through Ecclesia as well as the draw from Garura gives us more cards to play with for discards.

Some noteworthy things about Diabellstar, if she gets sent to GY on your opponent's turn (like with the Trap, with Furniture, or them just outing it), you can use a trap you plan to activate to basically recoup your loss even further as well as grab Wanted for follow up or even Silvera from deck if you haven't set it to try to break your opponent's board next turn with that.

For non-engine choices, I think Belle stands out here as one of the best ones right now. Right now, it has a good matchup spread as well as the extra benefit that it also has good defensive capabilities in making your Maxx "C"s resolve and preventing your stuff in GY from getting banished. If you haven't crafted Belle, I would highly suggest you do so for this meta.

For matchups, Branded is still my most personally hated deck, and this season I somehow drew 0 Belles for the matchup. My previous personal Lab list that I didn't post does really well against it due to having a lot of handtraps which are good against Branded (Triple Crow, Belle helps a lot). It was also the most common matchup early post-pack, but I expect Snake-Eye to be one of top 3 soon even if it wasn't here.

Lastly, the Extra Deck is pretty standard for Lab running Punishment.
