Mitsurugi is so much fun!

Hi again, after a small dead period I hopped back into MD, back on my favorite deck, Mitsu! Mainly because I have too much free time, and because I finally read what Fallen of White Dragon/FnV actually do. Fun fact, I didn't buy my paper copies of FnV when it came out because I underestimated the card and now it's 10 bucks a pop. :)

Deck Talk

Pure Mitsurugi is still such a blast, especially Futsu + I:W:P control as the endboard! Slowly overwhelming the opponent in removals and GY revives is a really good time - even if games tend to be over before you get to that point, or your I:P gets taken care of early.

The deck feels strong and capable, sadly this months' coin flips, shuffler, and opponents' non-engine were extremely hostile to me, which was tiring at times, but you have a pretty good going second capability.

Decided to run Fallen of White Dragon and Incredible Ecclesia because Mitsu needs starters that do more than ONLY add Habakiri - these two seemed the least commitment heavy, keeping the deck relatively pure! Starting with normal summoning either results in a Herald sent to GY and a Photon Lord to stop any late HTs or end phase triggers. Summoning White at the end of your uninterrupted combo, you can make Omega alongside setting FnV.

• Originally ran 46 with the third M.Ritual, second Futsu, and third Aramasa replaced by a second Saji, but the deck is just so desperate for starters that I slimmed down a bit and ran the third Aramasa instead.
  • The second Saji is actually quite nice, but not worth it in the grand scheme.
• As always, the banned copies of Prayers are sorely missed, you will need to incorporate Kusanagi a lot more into your gameplay to make sure you recycle it properly! Admittedly, it's kinda fun.
• Hesitant on Fydraulis, sending Herald during the opponents' turn is great and all, but it suffers from the Nib problem that it by itself is not impactful enough - my opinion would be a lot higher if the shuffler was nicer to me.
  • Fydraulis targets suffer from Impulse - even if ignoring that, I've probably sent Malong the least.
• Impulse does conflict with Ecclesia, but it's just too strong to not run.
  • You don't have to always use it during the opponents' turn, often keeping it for your own turn can be very strong, and keeps Ecclesia usable as a starter.
    • You can still special her even if she's not able to activate, and make a desperation play with another 4 into KotFI.
