Notable Changes From Season 42
I played the build linked below until M5 before Ryzeal dropped so no changes until then:

The M1 climb was focused on beating Ryzeal. My hunch was that Ryzeal would be more represented but Maliss was represented almost equally. Between the two, I chose Ryzeal as the most "beatable" for the following reasons:
- Ryzeal was more vulnerable to handtraps. Depending on your handtraps you can allow them to put back a card for Seventh Tachyon or Ash the Seventh Tachyon. In my opinion, cutting off access to Ext damages their ability to play. There is merit to allowing Ext to go through and Imperming Star Ryzeal to cut off Cross access & then Nibiru.
- Turn skips vs Ryzeal are better into the rest of the field (non-Ryzeal/Maliss decks). Purulia and Fuwalos check Duodrive in theory. It is risky with Fuwalos since they could establish Bagooska Starliege Duodrive in 3 draws. Interestingly, I barely saw Detonator pass under handtraps. It was often Bagooska.
Maliss is a wash, deck is too strong - at most you try to turn skip them with Fuwalos/Maxx, or pair Nib with Imperm (sometimes Ash on Mirror GY effect + chain Nib to Apollousa negate works) or hope the complicated nature of the deck invites misplays from your opponent. Purulia is ok, but you need another handtrap to stop their plays so they commit more into Purulia. For some reason, Maliss will skip their turn and refuse to give you draws - I assume they believe I am Tenpai and bank on me not drawing engine after shotgunning Purulia. There's also times you explode into their Droll counteracting paired Charmy / Maxx.
Singularity is something I am trying to make my board less vulnerable to Ryzeal Ext. Idea is you bounce Aggregator + Ext if they use their Aggregator to negate Singularity to force them to NS Sword Ryzeal/Ice Ryzeal which Superfactorial and Packbit should deal with.
Matchup Breakdown in Total (198 Duels; 109 Heads, 89 Tails)
Due to Tenpai's influence: 113 1st, 85 2nd
- 58 Maliss (29.3%, W/R = 56%)
- 34 Ryzeal (17.2%, W/R = 56%)
- 20 BE (10.1%, W/R = 60%)
Honorable Mentions: 13 Tenpai, 9 Tear
Adjusting for Master climb post-Ryzeal, I faced 34 Ryzeal and 29 Maliss out of 100 decks. So they take up an almost equivalent share of the meta, leaving 40% non-Ryzeal & Maliss. It seems fine to just build for one deck as long as you can beat non-Ryzeal/Maliss decks.
