Notes & Combos
It’s been a few months since the last time I ranked up to the max rank. I didn’t play the game for a month, and the current format feels stronger to me compared to the previous formats, such as during the release of Fiendsmith. However, the deck is still performing really well.
This build is inspired by Elut and Stigmata. Shout out to them for representing this build a lot, make sure to check out their YouTube channel for more builds and gameplays.
The advantage of this build compared to the pure variant is its versatility: it has many ways to play around Ash and is fast-paced due to the use of hand traps. On the other hand, its disadvantage is the extra deck space needed for flexibility, ceiling, and recursion. This becomes especially important if you decide to go into Fusion first, since later you’ll still need access to Synchro plays. At that point, the deck finally gains better recursion than the pure variant.
Veiler and Ghost Ogre are optional, but I recommend having at least 6 copies a combination of strong going-second cards of the current format in this build, such as Maxx, Droll, and Nib. Bystial is also good against Ryzeal and Maliss to banish Aggregator from having it as Xyz material and to stop them from recycling it and Link Decoder, which can prevent them from making Apollousa—especially off the Dormouse 1-card combo.
