Notes & Combos

This format certainly isn't a very exciting format. It feels like either you get handtrapped to death, your handtraps do nothing to your opponent going second since they have all the gas, or someone bricks on too many handtraps so one of the non-bricked player can stop things.

Due to the above and feeling like going second against Snake-Eye/Rescue-ACE (and various other decks is ****), I wasn't super inclined to play much, hence the end of the month list.

Gameplay wise, I was seeing an uptick in Snake-Eye decks running Gamma. As I wasn't expecting it, it hit me hard a few times. It's also pretty gross since the general thought is to Maxx C if you see WANTED.. but if your opponent has Gamma, they just get super advantage in the situation. It makes sense, but when going second, it feels like you want to get every card you can, so holding off on something like Maxx C until they have a monster that is on the field might be too late. (ignoring them using Gamma on your Ash if you try to Ash OSS that was set by Diabellestar...)

Super Poly is still a menace as well. Even on simple boards with Sera + Campa, it's sometimes hard to get going on the next turn if your opponent popped off and you couldn't get a few more resources through Sera's activation.

I've even run into some Rescue-ACE/Snake-Eye decks maining Prep + IoC + Souls + Sauravis (or some combination of them). Sauravis when your only handtrap is a Veiler/Imperm for Turbulence is disgusting. Ignoring the fact that at any moment, your opponent could just have Emergency and dodge Veiler/Imperm anyways, you can either hope for the best and shotgun things or hope that you can hit Turbulence and they can't build much of a board..

Regarding my deck, I only made a few changes from my Master 5 list. I ended up removing both Brigandine and added in a third Holeutea and Nib. Brigandine is still good, however, I just wanted the extra ability to loop the Holes and get extra advantage off of them. As for Nib, I found it kind of lackluster before when Snake-Eye players would get Apo out sooner (plus Shrine with Flamberge makes you wait until all of your opponent's effects have been used up to not just let them combo off still). I also saw less lab/stun players than prior, which made Nib a bit less dead than it could have been.

I think with this climb, for ED monsters, I used Goddess and Asophiel the least, so if you want to use some other cards, go ahead. Asophiel is probably being replaced by S:P anyways...
