Notes & Combos

This here is Volcanic FTK!

Despite being an FTK, the going second potential of this deck is not to be underestimated. The deck is crammed with weird extenders, and Volcanic Blaze Accelerator is a very good way to start breaking boards. The deck also has an unparalleled ability to push damage straight through boards, which makes beating decks that are not much more than hard to kill a piece of cake. Labrynth and even opposing Snake-Eyes decks can't just body block their way to victory against burn damage.

Up until Master 5 I was running the version of the FTK with Geonator Transverser, but switched over to this version with Knightmare Cerberus because I hated how some specific pieces of nonengine cooked the Geonator version and made me lose games where I should've otherwise FTKed. These are cards like Forbidden Droplets and Super Polymerization. To play around Super Poly in particular, I've found it best to end turn with no other FIRE than Volcanic Emperor, so there isn't anyone to fuse with him. In hands that make more material, this will usually be an Apollousa, but could be something like an I:P.

The 2 Promethean Princesses are actually a leftover from the Geonator version of the deck, which used the second one as a good generic FIRE to tribute for Kurenai. I found I did like keeping it because sometimes the first got banished somehow, and it's also nice to have Kashtira Unicorn insurance. Barricadeborg is a weird card that was in Lithium's version of the list which is what I started out with. I've found it does come up every once in a while to discard a Volcanic Rimfire or Flamberge Dragon, but frankly I don't know if it's worth the space. That slot might be better filled by a Knightmare Phoenix for going second and against stun.

I ran 1 Nibiru and 1 Impermanence because of the Crossout and in particular the singular Nibiru is to draw into with Maxx "C". I started out by playing 3 Volcanic Trooper but cut down to 2 because I was just drawing too many Normal Summons. Also used to play Birch but frankly I don't miss it much. One card I've been on the fence on adding is Subversion - Snake-Eye, as it can be real good going second, but I don't know what I'd cut for it. The list is quite tight.
