Notes & Combos

Overview

R-Ace is finally a top deck. The addition of Emergency and Preventer have done everything and more for this deck's flexibility and consistency, as well as putting out fires in its matchup spread against other top decks. While Snake-Eyes is still the deck to beat, R-Ace might be the one to do so.

Essentials

With Emergency, R-Ace now has access to all of its monsters with immediacy. Newer R-Ace decks center around Air Lifter, who is now a 1-card combo thanks to this new spell. Emergency can easily get you to Hydrant to enable further searching, or if you're under Maxx "C", you can just summon out Turbulence, tributing a R-Ace on field or in hand at resolution to set 4 and pass. Furthermore, with Preventer, the deck can now extend much further, which is why there are two combo lines in the Extra Deck that I'll go over. Preventer also provides essential tools for other matchups with its fast BoM-like effect, most notably against Snake-Eye, Synchro strategies like Mannadium and SHS, and XYZ strategies like Kashtira and Exosister.

The application against XYZ and Synchro decks is obvious, but against Snake-Eye you will find the most success using this effect on Flamberge.

Extra Deck

I've moved away from using Super Poly as a board breaker thanks to this deck's newfound Link flexibility. While Super Poly is still a fantastic tool for this deck, I wanted to instead experiment with two potential lines that benefit the deck in different ways. Firstly, the eagerly anticipated Terahertz line.

This version of the T-hertz line is less resource intensive than the one that uses Firewall Dragon, and that is to accommodate for the other combo line. Using Linkuriboh, Binary Sorceress, G Golem Crystal Heart, and T-hertz, along with its two targets in Desavewurm and Aggregator, only 6 of the slots are being used (really only 5 since Linkuriboh applies to both lines). The other line in this deck is one that attempts to end on Elf with Earlie and Princess in the GY. Elf provides invaluable targeting protection, and its ability to revive Earlie allows for more interruption when used in tandem with R-Ace monsters like Preventer and Fire Engine. Attached are replays that goes over these lines.

Conclusion

I'll be attaching a text document that covers other notes, like the addition of Imperm, and the cutting of Snake-Eye packages and Diabellstars, but all in all, R-Ace can now stand almost entirely on its own as a top deck, and its future is looking bright.
