Notes & Combos

Think I went 15-5 my last 20 duels, with some 4 and 5 streaks, tho unsure because Master Duel wiped my match history. This is a floodgate, trap heavy, low Ikea build.

Tech Choices:

1. Transaction Rollback

  • This is the best card that has come out for this deck, even better than the recent Lab support. This card is broken and it's crazy that I see M1 lists on here with this down to 1 or not at all. I run this at 2 since it's bricky at times, but it's necessary. This card allows you to play through Ash and LS/Harpie's/Evenly.

2. Low Ikea/Lab ratios

  • I play 1 of each furniture, 1 Arianna, no Ariane, 2 Arias, 1 Lovely, 2 Lady, 2 Welcome, 3 Big Welcome. Before Transaction Rollback, I would have never played furniture. I still hate playing furniture, but it's necessary for the discard. Arianna is not that great of a card either, but we need her at times, so she's at 1. Arias is a good card, but does nothing by herself, so she's at 2. If I had more floodgates unlimited or semi-limited, I'd probably cut her for those.

3. Lord

  • Busted card and it's crazy more trap decks don't use it. It guards you from LS/Harpie's, it's a 3k body on summon, searches any Spell/Trap. It's also a hard counter to Unchained.

4. Trap Lineup

  • I am playing 2-of ratios of Trap Trick, IDP, Punishment, and Karma Cannon. I was running torrential but I ran into a lot of Tearlaments, some Unchained, and mirror matches. IDP was good in those matchups. Punishment is good against most other decks, and we have plently of flex targets in ED (new Chimera cards are great). Karma Cannon like an FTK against certain decks, it's just too good. I'd run it and torrential at 3 if I only saw Snake-Eyes.

5. Foolish Burial Goods

  • Rollback, enough said. This is deadly with evenly in GY going second.

6. Going second cards

  • This mostly pertains to Evenly & Solemn Strike, also applies to the floodgates. Evenly is too good this format to not include and decimates Snake-Eyes boards. I don't even have replays of Snake-Eyes because the games are so one-sided. Strike is unresponsable against most decks, , so you can break boards going second with your set traps. Strike and Skill Drain will stop your opponent from negating your traps, and you can play around Skill Drain so easily with Big Welcome or Karma Cannon. Rivarly itself will rip apart a Snake-Eyes board and prevent them from making another. Gozen is also good if they start with Diabellstar.

7. No handtraps

  • Not needed.

Replays

Master Duel ID: 313-002-811 - Got 5 replays: Two mirror match, one Unchained, one Runick Stun, and one Kashtira. This isn't really representative of my climb but I thought these were the most interesting duels.

Some things I wanted to showcase:

  1. Lab Mirrors: Went second both times. Time your IDP and Transaction Rollback targeting IDP when they big welcome.
  2. Unchained: Lord is FTK.
  3. Runick Stun: Does nothing to us.
  4. Kashtira: Floodgates still good.
