White Magistus Charmer — 60-Card Spellcaster Pile

This is the result of my experimentation with Charmer synergies, combining Charmers, White Forest, Magistus, and Spellbooks into a 60-card Spellcaster pile.

Charmers

  • 60 vs. ~45 cards: Most Charmer cards aren't particularly desirable to draw going first (apart from the Spellbook engine), so I opted for 60 cards to reduce the chances of opening them.
  • Spellbook is the priority: Resolving the Spellbook engine is important, so try to bait out interruptions before committing to it.
  • Main payoff: Possessed Dharc searches either Silvy (the primary target) or Regulus.
  • Charmer Trap: A strong piece of interaction that can destroy a card and Special Summon Rciela, allowing you to search for Effect Veiler.
  • Normal Summon Blue Boy: It's perfectly fine to Normal Summon Blue Boy, as AFD or Selene can later Special Summon your White Forest or Magistus monsters.

White Forest

  • I run a compact 4-card package, as opening White Forest isn't ideal. The Field Spell also locks you out of DARK Extra Deck monsters.
  • Rciela is accessible with almost any card. On your turn, she can search Regulus; when Special Summoned on the opponent's turn, she can search Effect Veiler.
  • Because of the DARK restriction, pay attention to your sequencing before committing to the White Forest line.

Magistus

  • The Magistus package is relatively self-contained and can function alongside almost any other cards, with Crowley being the main exception.
  • It plays reasonably well through multiple hand traps.
  • Under Droll, you can pivot into Zoroa Synchro to establish a floodgate.
  • Most hands will generally start with either Regulus or the Magistus engine.

Extra Deck & Sequencing

  • Crowley priority: If you don't have Spellbook access, prioritize Crowley. After using your Normal Summon, it has approximately a 66% chance of hitting.
  • DARK Extra Deck monsters: Aim to summon Borreload, Chorozo, or Crowley early, before the White Forest line locks you out of DARK monsters.
  • Baronne lines: Usually made with either:
    • Rciela + a Level 4 monster
    • Zoroa + the Charmer Fusion
  • Chorozo → AFD: You can use Chorozo to access Ancient Fairy Dragon, which can then Special Summon Silvy.
  • Opponent's turn: With the Charmer Trap set up, you can Special Summon Rciela to search Effect Veiler, adding another layer of interaction.

Final Thoughts

It's still a 60-card pile with 19 handtraps, so consistency isn't perfect, but the different engines provide plenty of flexibility and interesting lines under different handtraps.
