Notes & Combos

Finally, after a year for study and rest, I'm back with my Gishki. The meta has change a lot since, and I still choose to play with Fiendsmith. I personally like the verson without FS, instead you can play Zielgigas and Gustav Max for some cool play plus Impulse but in the grind, those cards are often brick my hand, plus it's too easy to interact with Ziel so I painfully cut him. And you know, both Gishki and Spright loose to Droll, a very popular handtrap now but the FS card like plan B for that plus Caesar is so good now. Here are some note:

  • Cutting Desirae and using the link-3 is really my best choice. I never ever think it's better to go for Desirae than Caesar. The link 3 can easily lead to a OTK only with FS plus the out for something big like Werewolf. You still can go Caesar after that.
  • I cut a Jet since you only search for 1 starter, and sometimes draw Starter with Jet or even blue in the hand feel so bad.
  • A Bao is a flex spot in this deck. We can't use her so well and this deck don't like discard. But her synergy with Fiendsmith + reborn W:P make her the second choice after Caesar.
  • Droplet is the meta now, so just run 2 for less brick but it won me the last game in DLv 19 by dodging MST. Great addition for the deck
  • This deck has nearly 0 chance against Odion going second, so maybe a Duster will help but this deck is brick enough.

The meta imo is pretty healthy, I already beat Yummy (without Herald floodgate), VSK9, Radian Typhoon going second with only 1 handtrap and great engine hand. If you draw your Shadow + Abyss or the Nekromirror (best card in the deck) you know you have a chance. Dracotail is tough though since their trap is hard to interact with and somehow Neremanas is a Spellcaster that negated by Secreterion.

I've tried this deck for rank but it's so hard to go for M5 even now. After carried by Mitsu to D2, I grind with this and go straight to D5 (ofc like 9/10 times loose coin and 1 time brick which is fustrating). Let me know how you think is the best way to play Gishki. I had a fun version mix with some Icejade and a 60 card pile with Mitsu but both of them not so good (those deck has impulse though).
