Notes & Combos

Hello!

I decided to climb the DC Cup levels using a deck I haven't used in a while: Mathmech @Ignister! Here's an overview of how I built the deck:

(±) Non-Engine: I decided to slightly reduce the engine to include more non-engine cards. Maxx "C" and Fuwalos were game-changing as always and could win games by themselves. Ghost Belle is a new addition for the Dracotail matchup, though it was not drawn in those matchups. Ash Blossom is incredible for this meta, in my opinion, as it can hit many decks, including Dracotail, and of course counter Maxx "C" and Mulcharmies. Droll and Lock Bird was never drawn, and Nibiru was effective against Maliss. Cosmic Cyclone was a filler but do not use it. Cards like Red Reboot are far more effective in this meta, as most decks (including this one) have a very accessible in-engine trap disruption (Maliss, Dracotail, Mitsurugi, Odion, etc.)

(-) Other Cyberse Extenders: As mentioned, I cut down some engines. Micro-Coder+Cynet Conflict, Dotscaper, and other Cyberse extenders are neat but ultimately hindered my ability to go second, which was vital since coin-flips were often unfavorable. Mathmech Circular, Firewall Defenser, and Backup @Ignister (all searchable via Cynet Mining and Small World) are one-card combos on their own and also serve as extenders, so there's no need for additional ones. They are mostly resilient and at least drain the opponent's hand advantage.

The extra deck is very standard, so I won't elaborate on it.

Overall, the deck felt really solid for this "slimmer" build. The goal is to still create a sufficient endboard with several disruptions, removals, and negates, and to OTK the opponent going second with Neo Tempest Terahertz (usually by forcing them into half-boards with hand-traps). The resilience against hand-traps remains, but with less risk of bricking. I think the Code Talker variant is stronger in terms of pure gas, but this variant is all-around good in most areas.
