Notes & Combos

I fell in love with the loaner version of the deck in the ritual festival so I decided I wanted to build my own version and serve it on the duelist cup, so here's my recipe.

The goal of this deck is to add at least one more interruption aside from your quick effect tribute and counter trap. A lot of it is very hand dependant but with this 60 card version I found it very easy and consistent to end on either baron, herald of the arc light or perfection and in the best case scenario 2 or even all 3, plus something like an elf for targeting protection. Both arc light and i:p are specially synergetic because you can tribute whatever cards tries to battle into them.

The impcantation cards are a must for consistency and to give you bodies to tribute on your first turn. Herald of perfection is a great search off of pre-prep if you already have access to your nouvelles and you can add back whatever monster you use to ritual summon it with. Sakitama is the main way to make Baron and it has great synergy because it's searchable with benten and a free ritual summon material since it comes back to hand if it's tributed.

In terms of handtraps droll (which btw also destroys us) and nibiru were absolute mvps. Droll is a turn ender for a lof ot decks and nibiru is great against tough matchups going second like kashtira and you can set the token in attack for your turn.

Now I ain't gonna lie, this climb wasn't easy though. Deck can still brick by virtue of being a ritual deck, it's easy to play around if the opponent knows what the deck does and some matchups feel straight up impossible. It does however have a good time against link based decks like matchmech and dragon link and decks that need their normal summon like scareclaw and spright are also very winnable matchups.

Overall I absolutely love this deck, there's so much resource managment and different combo lines depending on your hand, It's far from the best deck but it has become one of my personal favorites and just like any well respected chef, I will continue to improve this recipe until it becomes the best version possible.
