Notes & Combos

Currently at Diamond III with this recipe.

This deck is meant to crank up the unfair factor. Don't listen to anyone who tells you Labrynth is better off without floodgates. They're objectively wrong.

I opted not to play any of the furniture. The loss in card advantage that comes with a discard is really bad in trap deck. Combo decks can multiply the number of cards they have through executing their lines, searching and special summoning and whatnot, but backrow based decks don't have that luxury so I advise not using them at all.

I only run 2 Arianna, mainly to cut down on the chance of duplicates appearing in the hand. Between her, Trap Trick, Lord of the Heavenly Prison and (in some cases if you have Lovely in hand) Labrynth Labyrinth, there are enough ways to get your main engine going without the third Arianna. In general you don't want to run cards with hard once per turn restrictions at 3 because like with Arianna, getting duplicates suck.

I'm mostly pleased with the selection of normal traps. Torrential Tribute is incredibly busted and can be used multiple times in one turn. Compulsory Evacuation Device can also be used multiple times but isn't that impactful so I cut it to two. That said, it's good enough to shut down Gigantic Spright or force a negate out so you can utilize your more important backrow freely.

Another underrated pick I'm running is 3 copies of Solemn Strike. Mostly I end up using this as an Ash counter but if you get the chance to hit a huge boss monster or a massive pendulum summon you'll feel amazing. It's also not once per turn so I don't regret running 3 of these babies.
