Notes & Combos

Context

Used this deck exclusively when climbing from Platinum 2 to Diamond 1 during the two days after the Spright pack's release. See below for deck-building choices and some interactions of note.

Gameplay Considerations

  • Your Spright Elf can help your Maxx C evade Called by the Grave by reborning that same Maxx C, so wait until the main phase before using it. Many mirror lists have opted to cut Ash/Crossout so Called by the Grave is their main response to your Maxx C. It's your duty to punish them.
  • If you get Maxx C'd, it's probably okay to give them an extra draw if it lets you get Jet out to search Smashers.
  • Against non-Runick Spright lists, getting their normal summon off the board and negating its summon from deck effect is usually enough to win the game on the spot. Besides Starter, they have very few ways to get a level/rank 2 on the field to turn on their Spright cards.
  • Be careful of Starter + Gigantic's rank 2 locks against Cyber-stein summong Exterio. Cyber-stein is mostly meant to be normal summoned after baiting out handtraps with Runick/Spright packages, but before going into Gigantic Spright.
  • A successfully resolved Exterio solos many decks on ladder, so it can be a turn 3/4+ game closer. Fetch Cyber-stein off Gigantic after you run out of Spright names or the level 2 draw cards, use it as a level 2 extender without activating it, then reborn it on subsequent turns when you are sure you can resolve it.
  • When choosing between searching Ipiria or Capshell, consider the latter if your Elf does not need to reborn a Red/Carrot and you can use Capshell as material for Number 65: Djinn. Djinn detaching for cost on your opponent's turn will trigger Capshell.

Deckbuilding Choices

  • I run the full anti-Maxx C package since ladder decks are strong enough to play through our contingency line of Runick Fountain and 1-2 Runick names in hand with Jet+Smashers at best. Crossout is exceptionally useful since the ladder's full of Spright and Runick cards.
  • Lava Golem is slightly worse than it was in the TCG since we have access to Maxx C as a normal summon.
  • Wind-Up Kitten is not very strong right now since ladder is filled with Spright decks that spread its endboard interaction across multiple cards. Bouncing your Lava Golem back with Wind-Up Kitten is funny though.
  • Cyber-stein package is an effective meme that makes use of the flexible extra deck. Third Hugin never came up since they recycle themselves upon destruction.
