Notes & Combos

Shame on me. I did not get to Diamond 1 playing Drytron before the release of Tear and used Floowandereeze for the first time to get there this season.

About the experience:

  • Floowandereeze is playable right now and a good choice if you cannot be bothered to actually understand Tearlaments too much
  • however, I do expect people to get better at playing Tear with better decklists very soon - then it remains to be seen how good Floo will be
  • more than 90% of my matchups were Tearlaments, Exosister and Floowandereeze and if were not those it either was a weird anti-Tear stun list or Frog Spright
  • am I a bad person for finding Floowandereeze kinda fun? I certainly did not expect that going into the experience
  • it is also not too braindead to use them, as you need to think about sequencing your cards correctly, getting through disruption etc

About some card choices:

  • the ED almost does not matter. Just have some kind of removal and bodies in there if possible. Zeus is kinda nice for example.
  • about the engine: Stri is hard to resolve vs shufflers, so I cut one copy. It's possible that running a 2nd Toccan is a good idea - even running more big WINDs could be good to counteract your Raiza etc. getting milled. 1 Map felt alright for the most part (I did not play Floo before this season ever), consistency was fine. I even went down on consistency compared to my first build, where I had 2 copies of Jack and a 2nd Stri.
  • maybe 3 Crow is correct, but I do not think so right now. 1-2 copies felt better to me. You can use Robina vs Tear to search it whenever you got Eglen or during their turn to shut follow-up down. And it is questionable whether you can have enough HTs to shut them down consistently going 2nd - 1 Crow is not doing that, you need at least 2. Crow is a valid target for Advent to unbrick with, so that is cool, too. I had a duel vs Tear with 2 Crow and I won that duel - but they scooped for no reason. Tear players are still learning their deck and it shows - another reason why I am iffy on Crow in the long run.
  • Evenly performed well, I would stick to it for now
  • Fissure was fine, but I am wondering whether Floo should play it all. It does not work before Evenly, it is not that great going 2nd. Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror could be much better.
  • Exosister was my biggest obstacle for climbing, so I added Imperm and DRNM - which also work vs Tear.
  • Floo mirrors suck

Replays

There is literally no need for a single replay. I did not even think about saving one to upload to my YT channel, as the duels are too straightforward and "standard" for the most part. Just play the deck a little bit and you will see what to do soon.
