Cardian Beatdown

This is a going 2nd deck. The core concept is to summon as many mosters as you can, and to break your opponent's board while doing so. For quick reference

  • Boar (level 7) destroys monsters
  • Deer (Level 10) destroys spell/traps

Basic Play Notes

There are 3 categories of maindeck cardian monster,

  • Starters,
  • Free bodies, and
  • Tributes (which can be further broken down into)
    • Upgrades and
    • Generic

Starter monsters are Pine (lvl 1) and both types of Cherry (lvl 3).

Free bodies are all cardians with 100ATK except Pine. Free bodies can be summoned if a lower level cardian is already on the feild.

Tribute cardians are those which can only be summoned by tributing a cardian, the Upgrade tributes have 2000ATK and require a cardian of the same level, and the Generic tributes have 1000ATK and require a cardian of a different level.

Technical Notes

Cherry (the normal summonable lvl 3), has multiple effects. It can either summon a 100ATK cardian from deck, or if you click the no button it can add any cardian monster to hand.

The A Forces, enables this deck to push for really high attack, so if you can't loop Boar you can always try clear the board the old fashioned way (by attacking) Cherry with Curtain (level 3) can be discarded provide a 1000ATK boost to a cardian.

Cardian Tuners can treat all monsters as level 2. Having access to the synchro monsters can be useful in some edge cases.

If you fall a little short on damage Lightshower (lvl 8 synchro) can inflict 1500 to your opponent during their Standby phase.

In this event specifically, Lightflare (lvl 10 synchro) is a good way to deal with an opponent's Blackwing Full Armor Master.

Development notes

Normally this deck is built to maximise damage output, and runs 2 copies of each 2000ATK cardian. However this build is focussed more on interaction, prioritising Deer and Boar. Also unusual is this deck is running Peony (lvl 6), to make access to tuners slightly more convenient, and therefore allow better access to the extra deck.

Going second cardians is mostly used in events without access to a cardian extra deck (and often does well in those contexts), mostly focusing on beatdown. This more interactive take on the deck is still a bit experimental and I hope it sees further development.

Adding Avarice may be correct if games go long, Peony may only be worth running at 1. A Forces is fun but, I might cut back on it either to add 2ks or a 2nd Gathering
