Notes & Combos
Writing down an actually complete guide or even the essential fraction of the spreadsheet would take too much and would never fit within the character limit: I know this, you know this, everyone knows this, let's move on.
Ever watched Yu-Gi-Oh GX's Society of Light Arc in Japanese? Playing Drytron in L&D is your Saiou/Sartorius's POV: experiencing in first person the high of suffocating your opponent with LIGHT, as you become more and more sadistic as your learning goes on. Some will vow never to play Herald Drytron, but you're too busy laughing like a maniac while looping Drytron, and setting your dream Beatrice-Herald-UDF board.
That being said, let's go for a brief analysis of each card's purpose:
Eva exists to be milled by Beatrice or sent by Herald to 2 more negates to the latter. Just in case it wasn't clear we at Drytron take making our opponent's life very seriously.
Thuban, Altais, Aldhibah specifically exist to pile onto each other, and add every needed Ritual Monster and Spell or extra card, one by one. Keep in mind Altais doesn't work if you don't have a Ritual Monster or Spell to reveal.
Rastaban exists for backup plays in case our opponent uses Cycle Reader/D.D. Crow, but having one more "name" (read: Drytron Main Deck Monster) never hurts in lack of other stuff, especially when milled by Mu Beta.
Eltanin is technically included in the first 3 Drytron group, but in this event it specifically prepares materials for UDF.
Orange either is used as Herald fodder, as a way to send Eva, or just to contribute to the misery.
Our trusted hooded Herald Waifu both mills either N'Tss or Arc Light, and becomes a level 6 to summon Beatrice. You can replace her with Senju/Manju if you're out of dust, but that would mean no Beatrice.
Able to be summoned with a Meteonis-weakened Drytron, Natasha exists to be Ritual Summoned, make OTKs harder, be sent to the GY, then banishing another Cyber Angel from the GY to revive and steal any opponent's monster, and then healing again. No quarter for the enemy.
The One Herald is your ticket to the utter annihilation of your opponent, flexing its non-OPT negate. Ever wondered how it felt to go against Drytron at the start of the game's life cycle? Soon, you will find out.
Benten, just like Idaten, isn't OPT and a valid target for Natasha's steal, and not only can add Idaten or Herald, but any LIGHT Fairy in general, including Waifu and Herald fodders, like Eva, upon being tributed by either Meteonis or literally every name. Also a level 6, but Idaten is more likely to be used for Beatrice.
Idaten is the Beatrice material frontwoman, recycling Meteonis from the GY on each summon, and a major loop enabler for that reason, as well as a valid target for Natasha's steal (thus being on Beatrice's detach priority), searchable by Benten.
Coming up immediately or being saved for later, Meteo (not to be confused with Meteonis, the Ritual Spell) is the Deck's Drident, big boi for OTKs, or just merciless beatdown of every Special Summoned monster the rest of the deck can't deal with. On top of a truly spicy summon animation. War crimes have never been so appealing. Not being OPT, Preparation just fills your hand with every Ritual you need, as well as recycling Meteonis for an extra summon. Or 150.
Cyber Emergency is truly the superior ROTA, able to search every Drytron, including Meteonis. Nova is basically a Foolish with extra steps, UDF setups and sneaky OTKs.
Prosperity, unlike Extravagance, while still turning off Altais, allows you to choose which Extra monsters to banish in order to increase your card advantage, and find the right card
Foolish is a free Drytron on the GY
Fafnir searches Nova on activation. The other effect is useless.
Meteonis isn't OPT (the recovery is tho), only works on Machines' ATK, but essentially never stops summoning until you run out of monsters to tribute or summon, and can be looped with Idaten and Preparation. You must fear it.
While obviously "making the opponent's life miserable" is a valid reason, Called also specifically blocks the GY-banishing handtraps the DARK so much relies on. An act of spite, if you will
N'tss and Arc Light exist to be milled by Waifu: one nukes, the other adds parts of the dream hand, as well as exhausting Rindbrumm.
Utopic Future, and his liege, UDF, are the one evolution that consolidates the dissolution of the enemy, giving Beatrice and Herald an extra boost, stealing even more monster, and a near unkillable boss monster to kick the enemy while they're down, killing their chance to come back.
Offering her soul and battle destruction's defiance for her two lords, Slacker becomes a tribute for our two murder machines: Zeus and UDF. All without using a single material Isn't contributing to the combo truly the sign of the superior waifu?
If you keep in mind the fact that Drytron are LIGHT Machines with their own Ritual, that actually work from the GY, saying Mu Beta does almost everything isn't that far from the truth, now, isn't it?
Ptolemy and Utopia Beyond both work for going second, but the former can also recover cards from the GY for new uses, as well as dodging every kind of destruction protection. And summon Zeus.
Dante simped for Beatrice in his life, and it's not hard to see why, given how much she contributes to Herald, Eva and protecting the board from attacks, especially by milling during the opponent's turn. Truly our queen.
Herald of Mirage Lights exists for an extra (and very situational) negate and clearing up unused Drytron Lyna exists for sending Natasha to the GY, her floating effect, and the rare occurrence when we're facing another LIGHT deck.
Goddess finishes the opponent by giving them a heart attack, swallowing their boss monster, in the middle of the duel, should the previous measures not be enough. A toast to DARK's demise!
Special thanks to GeeGeee9817 for the original list, and Olivia for the Drytron guide.
HEHEHEHEHEHEHEH HIKARI NI EIKOU ARE!!!
