Dullahan is not required for this build; however, he does facilitate going into Union Carrier in situations where you can't go into your earths, machines, or spellcasters for it. Since this builds has the most flex slots, you can slot in a Codebreaker package (Zero Day + Swordsman + Berserker) if you want to climb into Gryphon for your Tri-Gate board. You can also play the traditional Tri-Gate line with Phoenix and Cerb on the left and right and Apo on the top, though this is significantly weaker. You can also technically U-link with Tri-Gate, though these days it's not necessarily worth it.
All the other Knightmares are still included in case of situations where you might not have the specific materials to fit anything else for your Tri-Gate co-links, but they are also there as a formidable toolbox for going 2nd. Cerb is particularly useful for baiting out Mirrorjade and other monsters of the like while sending Rescues or MP to your GY.
