Mysterious Labyrinth is the latest Selection Pack to be released in Master Duel, featuring the brand new "Labrynth" and "Runick" archetypes, as well as new supporting cards for "The Weather", "Predaplant", and "Lair of Darkness" strategies, and the "Adventurer" engine! Here's a quick rundown of the newly released cards and some sample decks to get you started!

Labrynth

Themed after a castle filled with devious traps, Labrynth is a control deck revolving around Normal Traps as opposed to floodgates, with an array of monsters that get powerful effects when a monster leaves the field due to a Normal Trap card or that assist you in setting Traps directly from the deck. The servants Loading... and Loading... provide strong advantage generation and can be fetched from the Deck with Loading... , while the boss Loading... enables immense grind and the inability to respond to your Normal Traps; this is exceptionally powerful when combined with Traps like Loading... or Loading... . Loading... is an obvious inclusion in the deck as a Trap searcher that is also a Fiend.

A very low-action deck but with still room for plays, Labrynth has quick turns but likely long duels. While not likely to be competitive, especially in a best of 1 format where you are will only go first half the time, the deck will undoubtedly still be playable.

Runick

Styled after a first-person perspective RPG with aesthetics from Norse and Germanic mythology, Runick has an extremely unique playstyle; instead of winning the duel via reducing the opponent's LP to zero, the majority of Runick cards include an effect to banish cards from the top of the opponent's deck, driving the player towards a deckout strategy with a variety of powerful effects! While Runick cards require you to skip your Battle Phase, there are still a variety of engines you can run with Runick to bolster your strategy.

Comprised solely of Spell Cards in the Main Deck, Runick has cards to deal with almost any situation, from Loading... dealing with monsters and Loading... with Spells and Traps, Loading... providing consistency, Loading... negating monsters and more. What ties this together is the immensely powerful Field Spell Loading... which not only allows you to activate Runick Spells from the hand on the opponent's turn, but also recycles your GY and allows you to go up to +3 while also being a soft once per turn!

Runick Quick-Play Spells have an alternetive effect of Special Summoning a "Runick" monster from the Extra Deck to the EMZ which can be used both offensively and defensively, for example Loading... being Summoned in response to an effect that would destroy Loading... .

The Weather

The Weather is a very slow control deck that aims to outgrind the opponent over multiple turns, with The Weather monsters gaining effects based on the columns theya are in relative to Weather Canvas Spells and Traps, as well as The Weather Link Monsters. While the deck never saw competitive success, but the latest wave of support includes some obscenely powerful support that could only ever exist for a deck that needs the help that The Weather does. The new Loading... sets up basically everything for the deck, setting a much-needed Canvas from the Deck and circumventing the weak swarming potential of the deck by letting you use Weather Canvas cards as Link Material for The Weather Link Monsters. The new Link Monster, Loading... provides much-needed monster disruption outside the Battle Phase, and floats into Loading... on destruction, an omninegate for your The Weather monsters.
