Master Duel Meta Report: Sprites of Miracle

Sprites of Miracle brought us the much feared and awaited Spright deck as well as the long-awaited Loading... and Loading... to Master Duel. In comparison to past events where the playerbase has under or overstated the effectiveness of new cards, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that Spright would be the deck to beat. With an extremely pathetic attempt on Konami's behalf at weakening the deck before release in the form of putting Loading... to 2, the deck released at almost full power. minus the ability to play the Frog variant, one of the most popular and powerful ways to play the deck. As we are in a format dominated by a single core strategy, that segment will encompass all of those strategies into it as subcategories.

Due to the lack of Meta Report last month, the pie chart has been added to this article as as a second tab.

Spright

With such a worthless hit pre-emptivevely it is no surprise at all that Spright variants are the most dominant deck by far, eclipsing all other decks and effectively turning Master Duel into a one deck (albeit with diverse build options) format. Coming to the game as the first relevant Level 2 strategy since Frogs, more than a decade ago, Spright boasts extreme capability in extending, gaining advantage, defeating disruption, and, depending on the variant, end boards that can be played highly defensively or offensively.

Pure

Able to perform lethal out of nowehere with Loading... boosting Loading... to a fittingly gigantic 6400 ATK when playing offensively, and Loading... being able to Summon floodgates from the Deck such as Loading... and Loading... when playing defensively. Level 2 engines such as Frogs and Nimbles allows the deck to use its Normal Summon on something that generated advantage in some form, turning on all of the Spright in-hand Summoning methods, and aid in the Summoning of Rank and Link-2 boss monsters. It was the second most represented variant, and unlike Runick, can put pressure on the opponent immediately during the Battle Phase.

Runick

By far the most popular variant, Runick Spright offers nearly unmatched defensive capabilities. Taking advantage of the extremely powerful Runick engine, along with Loading... being Level 2, the decks seem like a perfect match. While other Spright variants rely on {Spright Starter] if the Normal Summon is disrupted, any Runick Spell in the hand can turn on all other Spright monsters' Summoning methods without requiring a Normal Summon, making the deck adept at playing through premature interruptions. While the deck is typically unable to OTK due to the Runick portion of the deck slowing down the Spright portion, what it gets in exchange is the pinnacle of current defensive boards in the Master Duel meta; ending on the full Spright board with a handful of Runick cards is not at all uncommon and often spells doom for the opponent.

Tri-Brigade

Perhaps an unexpected cross-over, Tri-Brigade is perfectly capable of playing under the Level/Rank/Link-2 lock imposed by Loading... and Loading... . The Tri-Brigade cards synergize with the Nimble engine and provide powerful end board pieces such as Loading... , Loading... , and as launch players are no doubt familiar with, Loading... ready to Summon Loading... . The deck is not nearly as popular as the above two variants but still beat out all but 3 other decks by itself.
