Overview

After a long drought, new plants have sprouted! Predaplant is an ARC-V deck based on carnivorous plants, insects, and animals that have come to bloom in several formats over its lifespan. Revolving around enabling effects with Predator Counters and access to any "Fusion" or "Polymerization" spell in the game, Predaplant has seen its fair share of use across Branded brews and Plant piles, at one point even being a tiered meta contender! With its most recent wave of support in Blazing Dominion, Predaplant has been flooded with new cards that do everything the deck has been asking for and more! While not reaching total meta domination, Predaplant is now a very capable rogue deck that can take others by surprise.

Predaplant boasts a fruitful suite of fusion monsters with a bouquet of tools to access them allowing for disruption with (sometimes)non-targeting level modulation, effect negation, and several ways to use the opponent's monsters as fusion material.

With Predaplant's new access to tuners and synchros along with the out-dating of its fusion lock from Loading... , various archetypes can be graft onto Predaplants much more nicely as long as they are generally Plant and/or Dragon based. The deck has seen cross-pollination with Rose Dragons, Dragon Link, Branded, Dragon Tail and a few other miscellaneous archetypes. Variants of the deck are still available with the older engine but are considerably weaker in comparison.

Required Nutrients

With Predaplant's extended history it has quite an expansive garden of cards, being a mix of insanely strong combo pieces and unplayable compost. This guide will go over every Predaplant card, new and old, making sure to note what's fresh and what's rotten.

Loading...
Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio

Loading... is one of Predaplant's normal summons, being able to special summon any Predaplant from deck at the cost of discarding specifically a monster. Being able to trigger the effect of Loading... , Scorpio is one of Predaplant's most important cards as it can access everything in the deck to get plays started.

Loading...
Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra

Predaplant's heart and soul. Loading... is a monster that is effectively a vanilla on its own but, when special summon by a Predaplant monster it can search any fusion or polymerization spell card in the game. Most notably used for searching Loading... , Cobra is also available to search other targets such as Loading... to break boards. Extremely important to resolve each game, if drawn it can be discarded and revived to trigger its effect, however Predaplant has only a single way to discard and a single way to special summon from the GY that will trigger Cobra. Be mindful that this effect is once per duel.

Loading...
Predaplant Byblisp

Predaplant's archetypal discard fodder, Loading... searches any Predaplant when sent to the GY. This is the main way to start and extend combos as well as being the bridge into Predaplant from anything that can send it from deck such as Loading... . Byblisp is a very important target to be able to send from deck via Loading... to go plus and to enable Loading... as a starter so it is suggested to run 2. Additionally, Byblisp can special summon itself from the GY if there is a Predator Counter on the field. Good use as tribute fodder for Loading... and good to keep as fusion material for Loading... 's GY fusion effect.

Loading... & Loading...
Predaplant Bufolicula
Predaplant Triantis

These two Pendulum Monsters provide unique and useful tools for Predaplant.

  • Loading... is a niche extender, being a reusable Loading... when scaled and adds a DARK Pendulum back to hand from the extra deck which will almost always be Loading... . Can be used as a starter with access to 2 other Predaplants but generally better as a back up option when interrupted.
  • Loading... has more uses than its best buddy, when scaled allows monsters in your pendulum zones to be used as fusion material and places Predator Counters up to the number of monsters you control when used as such. One of our best Predator Counter spreaders and enables lots of interactions and combos.

Between Bufo, Triantis, and other one-ofs like Loading... are select choices for most builds depending on what combos you want to enable. Triantis allows for more lines with Loading... while Bufo can used searched material or itself from the scales when paired with Triantis.

Loading...
Predaplant Longinephila

Loading... is Predaplant's best normal summon as it adds any Predap card from deck to hand which can access our spells and traps unlike Loading... . Neph's effect to search also triggers on special summon making it a great target for Loading... . Neph is also Predaplant's first usable tuner that enables Predaplant to synchro climb with the deck's new access to synchro monsters. The GY effect to place a Predator Counter and to set a Loading... from GY/Banishment is an extremely versatile effect. The placement of the Predator Counter is non-targetting which is extremely strong for board breaking opportunities on top of enabling several other effects that require Predator Counters. Setting Polymerization directly enables us to fusion summon without the need of searching and summoning another Predaplant. Setting from Banishment also enables us to use the effect of Loading... multiple times per turn.

Loading...
Predaplant Lilizard

Finally an actual extender for Predaplant, Loading... is the only good card within the archetype that summon itself from hand. It is also a 2-card combo with any Predaplant thanks to its ability to search Loading... . Note that it doesn't exactly need to be Polymerization but can also be any card also treated as Polymerization, such as Loading... . The on field effect to change any monster to DARK is useful for breaking boards and for certain combos that use Loading... . Additionally, when Lilizard is special summoned from the GY you can draw 1 card.

Loading...
Princess Dracaena, the Thirsting Tree

An honorary Predaplant and our best starter, Dracaena is a free agent for Plants that can send any level 4 or lower DARK Plant from deck for cost to special summon itself, notably making the send unable to be negated by Loading... . Dracaena's usefulness doesn't end there as she is another tuner that has a modulating level depending on what you send to summon her, generally she stays at level 1 but it's a useful effect to keep in mind. Additionally, she has an amazing GY effect to special summon any Dragon from Hand or GY allowing for synchro, link, and xyz plays or as follow up by reviving boss monsters like Loading... , Loading... , and many more during your next turn. Please take note that Dracaena locks you into only special summoning Plants and Dragons for the entire turn.

Loading...
Predaprimitive

This card does everything. It does your laundry, it walks the dog, it gets you groceries, it files your taxes, it sends any Predap card from deck to GY for cost, and it locks you into Plants and Dragons for the rest of the turn. After sending any card in your deck to the GY it then searches any fusion or polymerization spell from your deck. But this time not a once per duel, hooray! The target 90% of the time will be Loading... to get started on plays but it can also Loading... or Loading... for board breaking or Loading... for bridging. Additionally, it has a GY effect to pop a fusion monster you control if a monster is special summoned to your opponent's field. This is generally used to destroy either Loading... to wipe the board OR Loading... to floodgate the opponent.

Loading...
Instant Fusion

Instant ramen has never been better than this. Paying 1k LP to fusion summon any level 5 or lower fusion monster from your extra deck is the best bargain in the world and our fusion monster just so happens to be level 5. Thanks to our new tuners, Loading... 's activation can be protected by Loading... to safely summon Loading... . Loading... is also a summon target which can be used in some unconventional combos.

Without this legal the deck would be significantly weaker. Thank you Konami for unbanning this, we are forever in your debt.

Loading...
Super Polymerization

Unreactable, unblockable, untechable, uninteractable board breaker that can be searched THREE different ways.

Great versatility in just about any format with the amount of targets available. No longer mandatory since the extra deck has gotten really tight after all of the new cards on top of Loading... and Loading... locking you into Plants and Dragons reducing the amount of targets that can be summoned during your turn.

Loading...
Super Duper Polymerization

Unreactable, unblockable, untechable, uninteractable board breaker combo tool/starter that can be searched THREE different ways.

Also known as Apex Polymerization, Loading... is a card built exactly for Predaplant. It cheats out a fusion monster with the same type and attribute as a targeted monster on board but a different level, then fusion summons using both as fusion material. Mainly used to summon Loading... by targeting a DARK Dragon with a Predator Counter to special summon Loading... to get access to Loading... during the end phase. Can also be used as a starter in a bad hand or a board breaker if the opponent happens to have the right type and attribute combination.

Loading... & Loading...
Polymerization
Fusion Substitute

Loading... and its cousin Loading... are the targets for Loading... , being vital for combos you do need to run 1 of these.

  • Loading... while not providing any substantial benefit over Fusion Sub, allows the use of fusion material from hand which can come up in edge cases and is popular in some variants.
  • Loading... trades this flexibility of material origin for grind game by shuffling back fusions from the GY and drawing cards. When combined with Loading... and Loading... 's GY effect, you can draw up to 3 cards per turn.

Since Neph can set either of these cards from GY or Banishment, only 1 of these cards is required in the deck, choice is player preference but Fusion Sub is almost strictly better in every case.

Loading...
Predaplanning

Non-targeting level modulation, follow up, and targeted destruction, Loading... has quite the utility. Being able to effectively Loading... the opponent when combined with Loading... while also searching a Predaplant by sending Loading... for cost, this trap card is a very strong tool in Predaplant's garden. However, the deck has always been just 1 search short in allowing this card to be on every end board. Which generally means you'll be seeing Predaplanning as an extra target to foolish with Loading... instead of sending an unneeded name to the GY. While losing out on its first effect, the GY effect of Predaplanning is still extremely useful being able to pop any card the opponent controls if you fusion summon a DARK fusion monster which can be done during the opponent's turn.

Loading...
Predaplant Ambulomelides

Loading... is the target for Loading... , not only does it search any Predap card from Deck or GY on fusion summon but it can also tribute a monster to summon any Predaplant from deck. This tribute effect can be used on itself or the opponent's monster as long as it has a Predator Counter on it, always ensuring it has a target to tribute and allowing it to break boards when going second. It is essential that both effects resolve, always try to protect it if possible.

Loading...
Predaplant Chimerafflesia

A classic card not widely used anymore, Loading... is a fusion monster that provides non-destructive removal with the ability to banish monsters with an equal or lower level than itself. This effect can be useful though will rarely come up as Chimerafflesia is much better used as a Loading... target, being able to start plays or make other fusion monsters in a pinch. Another benefit of using Chimerafflesia like this is being able to trigger its GY effect in the next standby phase to search any polymerization or fusion spell for follow up.

Loading...
Predaplant Dragostapelia

With generic material requirements Loading... has seen play in a fair share of other fusion decks for the usefulness of its monster negation and level modulation. This faux dragon becomes even stronger in its home archetype, having more sources of Predator Counters than just itself, making any source of them a monster negate while this card is face-up on the field. Additionally with Predaplant's many effects to fusion summon using the opponent's monsters, Dragostapelia is a great fusion target as its effect to place counters is not once per turn along with the added difficulty for the opponent to remove a second one from your board.

Loading...
Predaplant Triphyoverutum

Loading... is Predaplant's premiere OTK tool with the ability to gain ATK equal to the original ATK of all other monsters on the field with a Predator Counter. 3 DARK monsters on field is quite the fusion requirement but is very useful as a Loading... target to break boards.

Not really an end board piece but if it comes down it to it, the effect to negate and destroy a summon from the extra deck is a powerful ability. The caveat being that the summon cannot come from a chain such as a fusion spell, as effects cannot be used as a chain is resolving and instead must be the inherent summon of a synchro, link, xyz, or contact fusion where the materials are used directly from the board.

Can also be used as recursive fusion material by reviving itself from the GY when the opponent controls a monster with a Predator Counter, however not great for trying to push for game as it is summoned in defense position.

Loading...
Starving Venom Fusion Dragon

Loading... is the original boss monster of Predaplant used by Yuri in the anime. A useful Loading... and Loading... target that can help break boards or be used as fusion material for one of its upgraded Predaplant counterparts. However, this OG boss monster is usually replaced by its new retrain Loading... for its much better effects to interact with the opponent while still keeping the same utility.

Loading...
Starving Venom Fusion Dragon, Four Heavenly Dragons

As the retrain of Loading... and participant of the "how many adjectives can we put in this monsters name" show, Loading... keeps the same fusion materials and provides monster negation and attribute changing effects while also being treated as a Predaplant. Heavenly Venom also retains board breaking capabilities by being able to fusion summon DARK fusion monsters during the opponent's turn using materials on either side of the field.

Loading...
Starving Venom Predapower Fusion Dragon

Loading... is Predaplant's true boss monster, being an offensive and defensive powerhouse with a soft once per turn omni-negate that requires tributing a monster with a Predator Counter from either field. After using its negate Predapower is still a threat thanks to its ability to revive itself when sent to the GY by an opponent's effect enabling it to use its negate once again. For Predapower to revive itself, it does have to be fusion summoned so after it revives itself once, it won't be able to do so again.

Previously the deck struggled to access its iconic boss monster without help from supplementary engines but now with the addition of Loading... and Loading... , Predapower is trivially easy to summon and will be on almost every end board.

Loading...
Starving Venom Wing Dragon

The newest edition to the Starving Venom lineage, Loading... is the fusion of Loading... and Loading... . Another boss monster and pendulum card for Predaplant that can negate an opponent's monster on summon and can destroy a card on the field in response to any effect while in the monster zone. When destroyed, Venom Wing will place itself from the face-up extra deck into the pendulum zone where it has the strong continuous effect of placing Predator Counters on all monsters that the opponent special summons. This floodgate disrupts synchro, xyz, and ritual decks with its ability to modulate levels. Additionally with Loading... on board, Venom Wing effectively becomes Loading... that only affects the opponent.

Scaling Venom Wing might seem like a hastle as it must be destroyed, however it can be destroyed by its own effect, Loading... , or Loading... giving the deck a multitude of ways to trigger it.

Loading...
Predaplant Daredevil

A last minute addition to the garden, Loading... is a very helpful board breaking tool that gives the deck much needed spell/trap removal. Being able to tribute an opponent's monster with a Predator Counter is not a foreign concept to Predaplant but access to it has required searches that the deck would rather use on something more practical. With Daredevil, any Predaplant can threaten removal with access to Predator Counters. This requirement of needing access to Predator Counters can be Daredevil's downfall as the set up for Predator Counters is usually later on in combos on top of being extremely telegraphed and can be played around.

Loading...
Fata Dragna

Fata Dragna is not currently in Master Duel

A TCG exclusive card designed by the Predaplant spy that infiltrated Konami, Loading... is quite literally a custom card that solves several problems that Predaplant had with the new support. It has the perfect typing and attribute for Loading... targeting Loading... to make Loading... and when used as fusion material Fata special summons any fusion monster from the extra deck for free with its effects negated and returns it to the extra deck during the end phase. The value that Fata provides is unprecedented and integral to Predaplant's combos as it effective turns three fusion materials into three fusion monsters including itself.

Fata is usually summoned mid combo by using two Predaplants however it also can be summoned by Loading... as it is level 5, or can be summoned with Loading... since it has similar materials as Loading... and as such replaces it in the extra deck.

Loading...
Predaplant Bal Teah

Loading... enables Predaplant's synchro climbing capabilities while also providing the extremely valuable tool of special summoning Predaplants from the GY, making Loading... no longer a hard garnet in the deck. Bal also provides layered interactions with its GY ability to quick fuse on the opponent's turn in response to an opponent's special summon by banishing itself and Loading... from the GY.

Additionally, Bal can special summon from the face-up extra deck including a properly summoned Loading... .

Loading... & Loading...
Bramble Rose Dragon
Black Rose Dragon

These Rose Dragons are paired together to facilitate synchro climbing with Loading... to access generic negates and end board pieces.

  • Loading... is the main enabler, being able to tag itself out for Loading... while also setting up its ability to special summon a level 4 or lower Plant tuner from the GY. Mainly used to special summon either of the level 1 tuners but can also revive Loading... .
  • Loading... is a free body summoned by Loading... 's effect for the sole purpose of synchro climbing. Black Rose does come with its powerful board wipe effect that should be kept in mind should the situation call for it.

Both of these dragons must be run at 1 to enable protection from nibiru.

Loading... & Loading...
Clear Wing Synchro Dragon
Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, Four Heavenly Dragons

Stolen from Predaplant's sister archetype Speedroids, Loading... is a wonky monster negate that can sometimes appear on end boards after being used as material for its main purpose, Loading... .

Loading... is an optional replacement for Loading... as it fulfills the same purpose but with a slightly different effect that can be useful depending on the meta.

Loading...
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon

Loading... is the card that Predaplant climbs into for its ability to insulate Loading... and Loading... from various monster negates, most notably giving the deck the ability to play around Loading... . It is possible and very easy to summon two Crystal Wings in lines using Loading... but trades off other important end board pieces to do so.

Loading... Package
The Fallen & The Virtuous
Albion the Branded Dragon
Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon

Searchable non-engine package accessible by summoning Loading... via Loading... or Loading... .

  • Generally run at 2, Loading... is nice to draw to dodge targeted negates or for breaking boards going second.
  • 1 Loading... is required but can be played at up to 2 depending on personal preference.
  • Loading... is nice to have as she can recycle the package while also breaking the opponent's board.

Since Fata's release this package has become mandatory in every pure Predaplant deck due to the ease of access to Albion and how much value it provides compared to other possible targets.
