Welcome to the Labrynth
While the Labrynth archetype hasn't changed much — with Loading... as its most recent addition — the game around it has evolved. New trap cards, engines, and tech have emerged, many of which Labrynth can exploit to great effect.
Most existing guides haven’t kept pace with these shifts, so this guide aims to consolidate up-to-date information on support, tech, and variants into one cohesive resource.
Whether it’s trap power like Loading... or engine-based builds using Azamina or Fiendsmith, today’s Labrynth has new tools — but remains the same control-loving, trap-holic deck at heart.
Playstyle: Control – Grind

The Archetype
Labrynth is a control archetype built to slow the game down — often by identifying choke points in your opponent’s strategy and shutting them down with normal trap cards. Through recursion and precise interactions, Labrynth steadily builds advantage while keeping the opponent locked out.
Expect games to stretch into long, attrition-based duels, with your strongest plays often unfolding on the opponent’s turn — where the deck truly thrives.
Labrynth performs best going first, where it can set up traps and take control of the game. However, unlike many combo decks, going second doesn't drastically alter its plan — you’ll still rely on setting traps and playing reactively. The key difference is surviving the opponent’s setup — making having enough responses and precise timing more important than ever.
