Notes & Combos

This is a pretty standard list, but here's the reasoning behind the tech choices I went for:

I tried running Talents with and without Thrust, as well as Veiler and Droll, but in the end I settled for Gamma.

• Talents is good for taking an opponent's Apollousa but I found that I wasn't getting enough payoff from it outside of the SE matchup. The same is true for Thrust, which can set an Unchained trap, but if you don't have anything to interact with that trap, that won't do much for you.
• Veiler is great for negating Snake Eye Ash, but I drew it too much going 1st instead of things that could help my plays get started.
• Droll is not that good of a handtrap right now but I still tried it as a way to blank Maxx C. I wasn't lucky enough to draw it when it mattered outside of a few matches, though.

While Gamma forces me to run yet another brick in this deck, it's still a very versatile handtrap that is live on either player's turn while also serving as yet another out to Maxx C. It came up a lot during my climb.

About the Dark Contract package: This package is simply amazing and it does so much for the deck that occasionally opening Vice King with no way to use it is but a small price to pay. Going 1st, Dark Contract signifies a Fiend body for linking and a way to pop your own cards to get your plays started. Going 2nd, it can also pop your opponent's cards and threaten Zeus. Additional Dark Contracts you get when Caesar is outed can be used as discards for Knightmare Unicorn or Abominable Unchained Soul.

As for the Extra Deck, I maybe summoned Darius once, I never needed a second Anguish, and the Accesscode Talker is there because it's another way to pop without targeting that also helps close games. Initially I had Goddess in its place but I ended up not using either of them. Muckracker is insane and has saved many of my matches.

Overall, the format isn't very friendly to Unchained (Maxx C baaad) but the deck is very fun to play so I'd like to encourage everyone to give it a try.
